Elmer the Elephant

This week was ELMER week.  We love Elmer!  He is a patchwork elephant who is a good friend, likes to play jokes and is really cute. Miss Dowd read us lots of different Elmer stories and we did lots of Elmer activities all week.  Here are some of the things we did.

At centers we wrote something we liked about Elmer and then drew a picture.

We got to play an Elmer board game with Mrs. L and fill in the squares on Elmer.

We also got to make a sponge painted Elmer face out of two paper plates and one trunk. It was messy but fun!

With the help of our grade4/5 computer buddies, we made Elmer pictures in Kidpix.

We even acted out the story.  We are super good actors!  Here are the morning kids.

Since we have been reading so many different Elmer stories, we made a list of all the words that we could think of that described Elmer.  Then we put the list of words into a special website called Tagxedo. We made our very own elephant out of words.

Last but not least we got to make a super yummy Elmer snack. They were super colourful and super yummy!
