Van Gogh Flowers

Each year the Kindergartens take on creating a Vincent Van Gogh Flower painting. This year we picked "Flowers in a Blue Vase."  It is a beautiful picture full of daisies and anemones. As always, the students were very excited to get messy and help in the creation.

On the first day we painted flowers.  We looked at real flowers on our smart board and then went to work. It was a little tricky to get all the details, but I think the flowers turned out amazing.

Then on the second day we painted on the background. I sketched out the basic shape of where the vase would sit and then I let the students take over. They were very good at mixing colours and figuring out what colour we needed to use to make it look just like the original.

When all the flowers and background were dry, I collaged the flowers together to create this beautiful masterpiece.  I am so proud of the hard work that the students put in.

I am in awe at how well you all worked as a team and made such an impressive re-creation of this painting! Great job by everyone! From Rhianna's mom :)
