This week was Chicka Chicka Boom Boom week and we had a blast! We started by reading both
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and then
Chicka Chicka 123 by Bill Martin Jr. We wanted to see which story the class liked the most so we learned how to take a class tally. We found out that the morning class liked the 123 story, while the afternoon like the ABC book better. We watched both the videos and played some fun alphabet and number games on the Smartboard too. After our group time we went to centers. Here is a peek at what we did this week.
| We rolled out play dough to make numbers up to ten and then we added the correct number of coconuts to our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees. |
| We made our name out of magnet letters to go on the coconut tree. |
| We painted a coconut tree and then used our handprints to make the palm leaves. We cut out coconuts and added letters to make it look just like the pictures in the story. |
| We practised colouring neatly and taking our time to do our best work! |
| We counted how many letters are in our names |
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom week wouldn't be complete without having a yummy snack!
