Each of us got to roll out the dough, cut out a gingerbread man and decorate it our own special way. We told our fantastic volunteers not to peak in the oven because they might pop out!
When the cookies were finished baking, we all went to get them. When we got there, we discovered that the cookies were GONE! What was left in the place of our cookies was an empty pan and a note. We had lots of fun reading the clues and trying to catch our Gingerbread cookies. Luckily, in the end, we found our cookies safe in our classroom. Finally we got to eat them and they were delicious!

As we were enjoying our Gingerbread men, there were a lot of questions being asked about what really happened to them, how did they leave all the notes and how did they get to our classroom. Here is what we had to say:
Q: Griffin- "How did they know our names?" (after seeing each cookie had one of the students name on them) A: Jesse- "The dough heard us say our names" Zeida- "They got bored waiting for us when we were in gym, so they snuck out" Zti - "They got so hot that they pushed the oven door open and ran away." Morning Class - "We think Mr. Friesen peaked in the oven so they ran away." Ethan - "It was just like the book." Wyatt - "The oven door wasn't closed all the way. And they crawled under our door." Rebecca- "It was all a trick! The Gingerbread took us on a wild goose chase." Hannah- "They could smell our Gingerbread house. That is why they came here." William - "I think they climbed up the wall, went through the window and tricked us." |
