To show that we remember all the brave soldiers, we painted poppies on coffee filters to make a class wreath that we will display at our Remembrance Day service.
We learned that a dove is a symbol of peace. First we wrote the word PEACE on a white card. Then we each made our own dove by dipping our finger into paint and gently dabbing the colours onto a paper. After we finished our own doves, we worked together to make a class Peace Dove. We think our doves are beautiful!
We read another story called The Peace Book. This book gave us lots of great ideas about what peace is. We liked it so much we wanted to write our own book about what Peace means to us. Here is our book.

Kindergartens, your doves are so beautiful! I would like to try that with my students next year! - Mrs. Lowe (Stevenson School)
ReplyDeleteFrom Rhianna: "I like Avery's idea of 'peace is having a picnic', and I like playing with my Dad too, just like Lasmi does"!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful reminder about the meaning of peace! The dove is a beautiful creation from talented artists.
