Every year in September, millions of people all over the world celebrate Dot Day.
Dot Day was inspired by the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds. The book is about a girl named Vashti who thinks she can not draw or create. The girls' teachers asks her to "make a mark" and then sign the paper. She begins a journey of self discovery and learns that she can create and begins to inspire others around her.
We made our mark by creating our very own dots. We drew a big dot on a page, and signed it just like Vashti did in the story. Then we used bingo dabbers, watercolours, pastels and stamping to create an original dot.
While we painted, we listened to the dot song.
Some of us even wore dots to celebrate the day!
