Family Art Day!

We are very lucky to have an artistic group of parents this year in Kindergarten.  After the success of our Family Board Game Day, we thought it would be fun to have a Family Art Day so parents could share their talents with the class.

In the morning we made pinch pot bowls out of clay, learned how to draw cartoons and made fancy beaded necklaces and bracelets.  Each centre lasted about 20 minutes and then we rotated to the next activity.

Our finished cartoons!!
"Look at my necklace!"
Finding just the right bead...

Following the three art activities, we made our very own paintbrushes out of Rice Krispie treats, and dipped them into coloured icing to make it look like paint.

After our snack, we sat back and enjoyed listening to stories read by our fabulous parent volunteers.

In the afternoon, we also made pinch pot bowls out of clay, beaded necklaces and created some beautiful pictures out of fabric.

You make a nice round ball shape, and then you stick your thumb in the middle to make a hole.
Pinch the sides to make the sides of the bowl
Artists hard at work cutting and glueing fabric
So many beautiful fabrics to choose from.
Some of our fabric creations!
Concentrating hard to get the beads on the string
So many to choose from

Even Mrs. Rogala and the other volunteers got their hands dirty and made a bowl

Snack time - Dipping our paintbrushes into yummy "paint" icing.
