Nest Building

Today the room was a buzz with creativity!  After reading the story, There Is a Bird on Your Head! by Mo Willems, we decided to try and build our own nests.  We had to be very creative because we didn't have any grass or twigs like a real bird would use to make a nest.

We had to come up with a plan and draw a picture of what we wanted our nest to look like. We also had to choose 3 different types of materials and draw a picture to show what we were going to use in our nest.

While we were planning out our nests, we had to keep in mind the criteria we came up with as a class.

1.  Nests must hold 3 eggs.

2.  Nests must stay together.

3.  Nest must balance on your head.

4.  Nest must have decorations.

Everyone was very engaged in the building process. It was very interesting how we ended up with so many different types of nests.  Students watched each other  closely,  gave compliments to their friends and even took a few pointers for their own creations.

Check out our Fabulous Nests!
