Handa's Surprise

Last week with our TIA artist Leanne, we explored stories in a variety of ways.  We told stories on the air, we put them in our bodies and then we used the pictures in books to help us tell a story.  Leanne introduced the book Handa's Surprise and before reading the words, we read the pictures.  We took what we learned from the pictures and created our own version.  It was great to go outside and become the animals in the book.

This week we were inspired to create our own baskets just like Handa had in the story by weaving paper together.  This was not as easy as you would think and took a lot of concentration.  After we finished, we used the app PictoBoldo to add the fruit.

We all took a turn adding fruit and veggies to our basket.
