TIA - The Integrated Arts

This week we have had story teller Leigh-Anne Kehler visit our classroom.  She is a FANTASTIC story teller and has an incredible imagination.  On her first visit, she told us that we can tell a story by just using our face.  We practiced making all different kinds of emotions like happy, sad, angry, surprised, etc.  We got so good at acting and showing our emotions that we played guessing games.  It  was a lot of fun.

Then we were ready to do some real story telling and story writing.  She had us clapping and singing along with her drum.  We "wrote stories on the air."  Which means we used our words to write our very own stories.  It was very interesting to hear and see all the kindergartens ideas come together.

When our story was complete, we moved to our "spotlight." (Real actors must stay on their spotlight so the audience can see them on stage.) We took the story from the air and moved it into our bodies.  We even because statues of different parts of the story. So Fun!!

  1. What a super fun time and excellent learning experience all of you children must have had with this story teller! I wish I could have been in your class but Rhianna did such a FANTASTIC job herself telling us the stories again when she got home and we LOVED listening to her and watching her show many different expressions on her face during her the story! :) Rhianna's mom
