Mat Man and the Kinders

This week we were introduced to Mat Man.  Mat Man is a person that is made out of long and short lines and big and small curves.  By putting the lines and curves together we found that we can make Mat Man.  Also, we can also use the lines and curves to make all the letters in the alphabet.

We sat in a circle and sang the Mat Man song. This helped us make sure we gave him all the needed body parts. Head, eyes, ears, hands, etc.

 We even got to put Mat Man together on the SmartBoard. 

After we practised putting Mat Man together, we learned one more important thing: How to hold a pencil.  It is very important to have a good pencil grip so you can become a good writer.  We watched this short little video and then did exactly what the video showed.  

 

Then it was time to use all our new learning.  We changed the Mat Man song into the Kinder song, and everyone drew a FANTASTIC picture of themselves.  Take a look at our wonderful drawings!
