Thanksgiving Traditions

After reading some Thanksgiving books, we started to talk about different family traditions. We know that traditions happen over and over and they bring us happiness. We noticed that many of us have the same kind of traditions.

Here is what we had to say about our own traditions.

Chantel: "I go to my Grandmas house and I say hello to my family."

Zti:  "My Mom always cooks bacon for me."

Mikey:  "I eat pudding at Thanksgiving."

Mackenzie:  "I play with my cousins at Thanksgiving."

Caroline: "I go to my Grandmas house."

Zeida:  "I help my parents."

Jesse:  "At my house we eat supper."

Robert:  "I play with my brother."

William:  "I play with my cats."
"
Seth:  We go to Thanksgiving at my Popo's house."

Ethan: "My Grandma cooks bacon and crepes."

Jordyn: "I play with doggy Rory."

Atley:  "I go my Grandmas house and my Grandma always makes me turkey every time."

Wyatt: "I play with my brother Liam."

Making Thanksgiving Center pieces

We decided it would be nice if we made a very special Thanksgiving centre piece for when our families celebrated together.

First we drew pictures of what/who we are thankful for on a little pot.

Then we carefully selected different twigs and branches that would look beautiful in our pots.

We stuck the branches and twigs into a ball of plasticine.  Next we painted glue on the branches so we could stick on small fall coloured pieces of tissue paper.

The final touch was to put the decorated branches into our pots and cover the base with gold tissue paper.

  1. I think your families will love your center pieces and be thankful also for such a thoughtful addition to the Thanksgiving table. from Ms.Dowds Mom
